Drug Rehab and Recovery Workshops

Part of alcohol or drug rehab at Cirque Lodge is to provide an education to the alcoholic/addict. Many individuals who abuse drugs and alcohol are completely unaware of what these substances are doing to them. They are seeking the numbing effects, the stability, or the euphoria and do not understand the changes that substance abuse is doing to their central nervous system. During an addiction treatment stay in the serenity of the mountains, a number of fun, engaging and educational workshops are used to teach about alcoholism and drug addiction, as well as the recovery process.

Cirque Lodge is a 12-step drug rehab facility. Our focus is on the disease concept of addiction that is followed by the majority of recovery efforts and programs. Workshops are used to teach the individual about their disease. Members of Cirque Staff and a number of guest lecturing professionals cover a wide array of topics and discussions about the nature of addiction and chemical dependency. During family programming, workshops are used to teach loved ones about addiction, as well as ways they can support and not enable. Many of these workshops call upon personal experiences from those who have been through the recovery process and have found a means to successful sobriety.

Education is even found out on the mountain through experiential activities. A mountain activity can be accompanied with discussions out of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous or with a spiritual message from residents and staff. Throughout an alcohol rehab or drug rehab stay, the client is being thoroughly treated and educated on the many different aspects of addiction and recovery. The recovering alcoholic/addict can use this knowledge as a tool to keep them sober when possible.
